Silence of Diwali
Today is Choti Diwali and everyone's excited. There's happiness in everyone's minds but there's sickness in the air. Sickness not due to physical illness but due to a spiritual one. The lack of Ram Naam ( Lord Ram 's name) is deafening. My mind wanders through the streets of Ayodhya today where Lord Ram's name was loudly said. The name that purified the people of Ayodhya can no longer be heard amongst the common folk. Today I don't hear this name often. Only on the back of vehicles and on the flags and shirts of people claiming to be " Hindus ". Today it is mentioned only for the sake of earning money and not to find inner peace. I yearn to hear it as a greeting. I yearn to hear it in a satsang on the tv like dadi used to hear it. As midnight is nearing, I turn on YouTube and turn to Rajendra das ji maharaj who is a pioneer in Ram Katha . He's talking about Yudh Kand and how fierce he became when Hanuman ji was demeaned.
